The Birth of Anthony and Harry via C-Section
As we had found out that I had to have C-section because the babies were breach, I didn't really mind as whatever way was best for them to come out was the most important thing.
I have to admit I was a little nervous about having a C-section as this was my first birth and also I had never been to hospital before for anything. I had a lot of questions and random things going through my head but I think the best advice I could offer to someone having a c section is to think happy thoughts and don't worry.
The day we had the boys, I was so excited to meet them but I didn't know what to expect. As we arrived at the hospital and I started to meet the team that would be in theatre with me, I felt more and more comfortable. I started to realise that it was nothing like I had thought.
It was painless and the people around me made it a great experience. Having the support of the people around me and my husband was a huge relief. It was very quick and the babies were delivered fast. Being awake through the whole thing and not feeling pain was great as you knew exactly what was happening.
After the surgery, I was alert and just waited for the epidural to wear off. My midwife had told me that I should try and get up as soon as possible and I did. I went for a walk and showered myself the next morning. I hope this puts a positive outlook for people that are having a C-section.
