Lactation Cookies



  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons linseed (flaxseed meal)
  • 225 grams butter (or coconut oil if you want dairy free)
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour (brown, white, or 1 cup of each)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 heaped tablespoons Brewer's Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups oats (thick cut preferably)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius
  2. Stir flaxseed meal into water, and allow to stand for 5 minutes (or while mixing other ingredients)
  3. Cream butter and sugar
  4. Stir in eggs and vanilla
  5. Add flaxseed meal and water, and stir well
  6. Mix in flour, cinnamon, baking soda, brewer's yeast and salt
  7. Add oats and chocolate chips and stir to combine well
  8. Place dessertspoonful lots onto greased or lined tray, flatten slightly with a fork
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Brewer's yeast can be found in some health food shops and Fruit World stores
Linseed is available in most supermarkets
It's these two ingredients along with the oats that may help boost your supply.

Both the biscuits and the dough can be frozen.  If freezing the dough, roll into logs and wrap in gladwrap.
